September 3rd! It’s seriously hard for me to believe that summer is over. I looked back, and it’s been a really long time since I’ve sent an Ounce of Ketchup email! Our family has seen some interesting changes since then. Ron has graduated from college (Hear the Hallelujah Chorus?!). Joe is deployed on a ship in the Persian Gulf. Mike is back in an academic program at community college, and Ash just finished showing me how he figured out some Chemistry II problem involving moles. And no, I do not know what he is talking about.
As for me, my husband and I have started a new business that has taken me away from being in touch with you. I’m truly sorry about that. We didn’t have a lot of choice, though, as my husband’s job was just one of the many casualties of the recession. And we do have to eat!
We actually considered closing goaskmom.com, considered selling it, but I just can’t! Sharing about ADHD Inattentive is important to me. So here’s what is happening.
Starting next week, we’re going to have an extra set of hands for the newsletter, goaskmom.com and the adhd-inattentive.com blog. Brock Myers*, who has an ADHD-Inattentive daughter of her own, is going to be doing a lot of the writing and corresponding with you guys. She’s actually been a guest contributor to the newsletter in the past; several of you let me know you enjoyed her contribution.
You’ll love Brock! She’s smart, funny, and has a lot of great experience to share. She and I go back almost 40 years. With her on board, you’ll have a fresh perspective of dealing with ADHD in younger kids, because let’s face it. I don’t have any younger ADHD kids any more.
And I’ll still be here, too. In fact, I’d like to give you the opportunity to listen to an interview I had with Shannon S of Living Life at Home. Shannon also has four kids – and has her share of learning challenges. She’s a homeschooling mom, and a great all around person. You’ll love the interview! Hear it here.
*Brock is a pen name.
